The whole thing would need to be converted over

Not sure on the swap. Would be a lot of work and money for just personal value in the end.
That engine and trans sells for $8k plus.
Curious to see what the end bid will be, you could make a lot of money at that price.
Also hope it's not haunted, that looks brutal.

I can do almost anything to any car, but I avoid salvage cars because they can be such enigmatic black holes. The only way I will touch them is if the damage was minimal and I can't see any evidence of it, or if I'm only looking for a couple of parts.

I figured. But be careful. Things you would never expect can and will be broken. Had car that slid into a curb at 30mph on the right side a while back. Destroyed the steering and suspension of course, but it also broke both motor mounts and their brackets.

I'll say this: I've spent about 2 months researching a Coyote swap. I also looked into buying a wrecked car, but the possibility of buying a messed up engine is just too great, especially since what you will pay for the whole car, you could probably buy a used motor with that was pulled rather than wrecked. I know you can make some money parting it out, but honestly I don't think it's worth the risk to save 2-4k, because if the tranny or engine are messed up you're screwed.

Um not really. You're front might ride a little low, but all that is really needed for the Coyote swap is a new control pack, pedal assembly, and some brackets to move your power steering pump and alternator around (I might be forgetting some odds and ends). For the V6, you could just swap to some GT springs to compensate for the weight.

What about transmissions?

It depends. Some people have mated it to the 05-09 5 speed, some have put the MT-82 in, some have put in built transmissions, and I am going to swap in a TR-6060 (I think that's the name) from a Shelby.

Ya I need the trans cause I have the 5-speed auto in it right now.

I actually think I read that the 5 speed auto might hold up on the V6's. Do you know if its the same as the GT's of that year? I think I've read that it was, and if it is it would hold up. But damn if you're doing all that work you might as well swap to a proper 6 speed!

If I was willing to risk the money, that is the kind of wreck I would go for. Are you close enough to inspect it? My thoughts are that if I'm gonna do it, and its already gonna cost around 10k-ish, I might as well get a new motor, or a motor that was pulled by a shop I can verify with.

No I'm not close and I can't find any close by me online and I hate calling salvage yards.

But there is one where I can yard browse thinking. Hw different is say a 4.6L in a Nw edge from a 4.6L in a S197?
Slow4o

I think pretty different. I think S197 have 4 valves and the new edges had 2.
